Press Release Distribution: how it works
Press release distribution works by submitting a newsworthy press release to a large, worldwide network of media outlets and syndication sites, resulting in guaranteed live placements and links back to your website. It's built to strengthen your link profile and brand authority, not to drive direct traffic.
What it is
Our press release distribution service gets your news written (or submitted as your own copy), approved by you, and then distributed to a mix of premium industry news channels and media outlets. Every order comes with a guaranteed minimum of 350+ live placements, because releases are hand submitted and tracked manually rather than pushed out in one single batch.
Who it's for
This service suits businesses and agencies who want proactive PR: generating brand exposure, natural-looking backlinks, and third-party coverage, rather than chasing journalist requests reactively. It's also a good fit if you want to diversify your link profile with a mix of nofollow and follow links.
What's included
There are three packages to choose from, each guaranteeing 350+ live placements, a 300+ word written release, the chance to pre-approve content, 1 bio link, and a full submission report:
- Basic – distribution via our general newswire, with 1 body link. Links in this tier are no-follow.
- Pro – everything in Basic, plus Google News submission and coverage from 3 high tier media outlets (such as Business Insider, Street Insider and NewsBreak). Links are mostly follow, though some may still be no-follow.
- Ultimate – maximum distribution, including Google News submission, Yahoo! News (DR91), and coverage from 5 high tier media outlets (such as Business Insider, USA Today, Yahoo, Street Insider and NewsBreak). Links are mostly follow, though some may still be no-follow.
A local press upgrade is also available on any package, adding 10+ guaranteed local placements.
Full details and current pricing are on the press release distribution page. If you'd rather just have a release written without distribution, that's available separately too.
How it works
- We write the perfect press release – our writers draft a professional, compelling release, with unlimited revisions until you're happy with it.
- We distribute the press release – once you've approved the copy, we distribute it via a mix of premium industry news channels and manually submit it to other online media outlets for review.
- You view your press placements – you'll be able to see every publication of your release and where it ended up online, along with a full white label placement report you can share with clients.
What you'll need to provide
When ordering, you'll need to supply a press contact name, address, telephone number and email address for whoever handles enquiries from the release (usually the business owner or marketing department). This information, along with your website URL, is included at the bottom of the release - we don't add extra anchor text links within the body copy, just a URL link alongside the contact details.
We recommend linking to your homepage or to the original press release on your own site, as this keeps the release looking natural rather than designed purely for rankings. Link value and mentions still flow through your site's internal link architecture, so this doesn't waste the benefit. If you'd prefer to link to a specific page instead, just let us know on your order.
If you already have a written release, you can provide this in the notes section of your order - though due to editorial guidelines, we may need to make changes to maximise distribution, which you'll be able to approve before anything goes live. Any claims made in the release (such as "best service") will need supporting evidence, which can also be added to the notes.
Delivery time
Delivery is 14 days as standard, or from 7 days with Express. The delivery time starts once you've approved your press release copy.
Guarantees
We guarantee a minimum of 350+ live placements on every order, because releases are hand submitted and tracked rather than sent out in a single blast. As distribution is a broad, "shotgun" approach across many networks, some releases may later be rejected or removed by moderators - this is accounted for within the 350+ guarantee. We can't guarantee Google News inclusion, though it's highly likely with the Pro and Ultimate packages. The service is also backed by our money-back guarantee if it doesn't meet what we promise.
Good to know
The purpose of press release distribution is brand exposure and link diversification, not direct traffic - the majority of links, particularly on the Basic tier, will be nofollow, which still signals trust to Google. Releases are distributed worldwide (predominantly to .com sites), and may get republished again over time, sometimes for months or years afterwards. We're not able to remove releases distributed as part of the local press add-on, and removal of other releases can't be guaranteed even if an error is found after distribution - so it's important to review your release copy carefully before approving it.
