The DR of my placement has dropped

It's completely normal for a site's Domain Rating (DR) to change after your placement has gone live, as we only guarantee DR at the time the placement is secured, not afterwards.

Why does this happen?

DR is a metric calculated by third-party tools and it naturally fluctuates over time, based on factors outside of our control, such as changes to a site's wider backlink profile. There's no way for us, or anyone else, to predict whether a site's DR will rise or fall in the days, weeks or months after a placement goes live.

What we guarantee

When your order is placed, you'll be able to see the DR score for the site within your order details. This figure reflects the DR at that specific point in time, and this is the figure we guarantee. We're unable to offer a refund or replacement for placements where the DR rises or falls after the first day the placement is secured.

This means that if a site's DR later drops below the tier you ordered, the placement itself still stands and remains valid, as it met the required DR at the time it was secured.

Good to know

We use Ahrefs' Domain Rating (DR) as our metric across our link building services, including blogger outreach and niche edits. If you'd like more detail on how DR guarantees work, take a look at the FAQs on the relevant product page before ordering.
